There's a reason we call these guides rather than instructions.

Every animal is an individual, and no two enclosures, environments or circumstances are ever quite the same. A care sheet can tell you what a species needs, but it can't tell you everything about the animal sitting in front of you.

Our guides are designed to give you a solid starting point, drawing on natural history, behavioural ecology and practical husbandry. They're not definitive rulebooks, and they certainly aren't a substitute for observation, understanding and a willingness to learn.

Husbandry doesn't stop at the bottom of a care sheet.
