Available Animals
The animals available through PRO Herpetology tend to arrive by one of two very different routes. Some are rescues and rehomes that have come to us needing a little help, rehabilitation or simply a fresh start. They remain with us for as long as necessary, receiving appropriate husbandry, veterinary treatment where required, good food and plenty of observation until we are satisfied they are healthy, stable and genuinely ready for a new home. Others are hatchlings bred here at PRO, produced from carefully managed breeding projects with the same emphasis on welfare, natural history and responsible husbandry that runs through everything else we do.
We don't want to become a conveyor belt for animals. We would much rather have fewer available and know exactly what they are, where they've come from and what they need. Every animal leaves with honest information and appropriate husbandry guidance, and we're considerably more interested in finding the right home than making the quickest sale.
Some arrive with a pedigree. Some arrive with baggage. Some arrive having apparently made several questionable life choices.
They all get the same deal: a proper chance to thrive.
Royal Python — Female Pinstripe
6 years old | £50
This little lady is a former breeder who arrived with us considerably underweight and very unsure about life outside a rack. Since coming to PRO, she has fully acclimatised to living in a vivarium and now feeds incredibly well. She still has some external damage from her previous life, but this is healing nicely and we expect it to improve further with her next shed. A lovely snake who has already come a very long way and is now ready for the next chapter.
Royal Python — Male Leopard
5 years old | £50
A real looker, but very much a gentleman who likes to do things in his own time. Another former rack snake, he remains naturally shy and has a definite preference for enclosed, secure spaces. He isn't particularly enthusiastic about striking for dinner, but he feeds reliably when allowed to go about things his own way. Best suited to a well-cluttered enclosure with plenty of opportunities to disappear when he chooses.
Royal Python — Male Leopard
5 years old | £50
Our second Leopard male is slightly darker than his counterpart and has a character all of his own. He's a good feeder on drop-fed prey and an absolute joy to handle, although he's still very viv-shy. Open spaces aren't his thing, so he'll need a suitably cluttered enclosure with good cover and plenty of secure hiding opportunities. Give him somewhere to vanish and he's a happy little chap.
Interested in Offering a Home?
If you're interested in one of our available animals, please complete the enquiry form below with a little information about yourself, your experience and the animal you're interested in. Serious enquiries only, please.
At PRO Herpetology, finding the right home matters considerably more to us than making a quick sale. Every animal in our care has a history, individual requirements and, occasionally, a few quirks of their own. We want to make sure both animal and keeper are a good match.
All prospective homes will therefore be vetted by telephone before an animal is reserved or sold. This gives us an opportunity to discuss the animal, its husbandry requirements and answer any questions you may have.
We will also require proof of a suitable enclosure and setup before purchase. This isn't about catching anybody out; it's simply part of our responsibility to the animals in our care.
The sale is optional. Their welfare isn't.
